Choose boxing equipment for the sessions you will actually do: coached training, bag work and home fitness can need different setups. Compare glove fit and your club’s required glove weight, then work out how a punching bag will be supported in your room. Buying a mount is not the same as buying a complete bag setup.
Choose gloves with your training requirements in mind
Confirm the glove weight and intended use with your coach or club before ordering. A product’s colour or series name does not tell you the correct ounce option. Check the selected variant and fit with the hand wraps you will use; a quoted weight does not describe every hand size.
Compare fastening, lining and the manufacturer’s intended activities. Do not assume gloves bought for solo bag work meet a club’s sparring requirements. The examples below show two price points, not a claim that either model prevents injuries or suits every session.

Freestanding or wall-mounted bag?
An inflatable freestanding bag and a suspended heavy-bag setup are different purchases. Compare the intended training use and the space needed around the moving equipment. For a base, confirm the filling instructions and the floor requirements; for a suspended setup, check the bag, mount and installation together.
The freestanding inflatable example is listed at £49.99, while the wall bracket alone is £39.99 in this snapshot. Those are not like-for-like complete setups. A mounted bag can involve the bag itself, compatible fittings and installation costs, and this bracket’s supplier states screws are not included.
Compare the full training cost
The Essential glove example is £29.99 and the Contender example £49.99 at the checked prices. Compare their selected weights, fit and intended use before deciding whether the £20 difference matters for your training. Confirm availability of the variant you need rather than relying on the starting price.
Allow for wraps and any club-required equipment separately. Check the retailer’s care guidance, returns conditions and whether the equipment is suitable for the way and place you plan to train. Home equipment also needs enough clear operating space; a small stored footprint does not prove a usable workout area.
